A Visitor Visa (Subclass 600)

A non-immigrant visa is granted to foreign nationals who wish to visit Australia temporarily (typically up to 3, 6, or 12 months, depending on the purpose of the visit) for tourism, family visits, leisure, or medical treatment, and for business purposes.

Purpose of the Visitor Visa:

• Tourism: Visiting family, friends, or exploring the country.

• Medical Treatment: Access specialized medical care in Australia’s healthcare facilities.

• Short-Term Business Visits: Attending business meetings, conferences, negotiations, trade fairs, etc.

Key Eligibility Requirements:

• Intent to Return:
  Applicants must demonstrate no intention of staying permanently by proving ties to their home country, such as a job, family responsibility, business commitments, or property.

• Financial Stability:
  You must show that you have sufficient funds to support yourself during your stay, i.e,. bank balance, fixed deposits, mutual funds, shares of a listed company, etc.

• Valid Passport:
  At least 6 months beyond your intended stay.

Steps to Apply

1. The first step is to create an Immi Account and fill out the online application form on the official Australian Department of Home Affairs website.
   Accuracy in filling out of form is the key to increasing visa success.

2. Submit the required documents online. Generally following documents are required to submit:

   • (i) Valid passport

   • (ii) Proof of financial support (bank statements, fixed deposits, mutual fund statement, shareholding, provident fund statement, public provident fund, surrender value of life insurance, salary slip, income tax return, valuation report, CA certified net worth, etc.)

   • (iii) Proof of ties to your home country (such as family, employment, business, or property), which is justified through a cover letter with supporting proofs.

   • (iv) Invitation letter from family or friends in Australia with supporting documents.

   • (v) Marriage certificate

   • (vi) Business proof

   • (vii) Travel history

   • (viii) Travel itinerary, including flight details and accommodation

   • (ix) Medical records (if applying for medical treatment)

   • (x) Proof of relation with 2-3 photographs

   • (xi) Other documents as per the profile of the applicants

3. Apply online by paying the visa fee, i.e,. AUD 195.

4. You will be notified about the decision. Processing time approx. 3 weeks.
   The visa grant notification will be sent via email. The email notification (E-visa) itself is a visa — no stamp required on passport.
